My employer does not provide health coverage, which is why I have an individual plan with Celtic. I was happy with my Celtic insurance until I had to use it. Most of the costs were covered for my annual exam, but I had to go back for a follow up appointment and additional testing, only a portion of which was covered. The lab fees were very high and Celtic only covered about 60%, leaving me to pay the few hundred dollars they would not cover for the routine tests I needed. The coverage is fine as long as you don't get sick! Pretty useless. Pay higher premiums and get good coverage from Blue Cross or another carrier!! Celtic is not worth the hassle. The only reason I haven't had issues with their lousy customer service is that in my line of business I work directly with a Celtic wholesaler, who is the first person I call when I have an issue.. |

Avoid Celtic at all costs. I have had a horrible experience with them from the beginning. They have terrible customer service. Everyone I have spoken to in the billing department has been rude and condescending to me. I have paid my bill, in full and on time every month and they still treat me like crap. It is impossible to get through to the billing department if you have any questions. You get horrible coverage for what you pay. They do not cover anything they deem preventative medicine, and will make your life exceedingly difficult if you try to file a claim for anything else.. |

I had hard time cancelling Celtic medical insurance. There policy is that if you paid the premium for the month, no refund even if you cancel anytime in month. They wont pay refund and give you a hard time.. |

I am so thankful to get rid of Celtic Insurance. I called to make sure an ultrasound was covered at the hospital and they said it was covered, now I have a 600 dollar bill that they won't cover. Their customer service has always been rude and I can never understand what they are saying.. |

I am so glad I am cancelling my celtic insurance policy!! The agents are rude and very unhelpful. When i first signed up I went through the online system. I had put in a date i wanted my policy to start (not knowing if they could approve it by then but as a date I was hoping for). Well that day came and went which was fine because I had other coverage but the problem was when I got my bill and was charged for the 1.5 months when I was waiting for them to approve the policy. They told me that because I put in writing a start date I had to pay from that point on. If I would have know it worked that way I would have put something months in advance down. All the question said was "What date would you like your policy to start on" Not "If you put this date down you will be charged from it no matter what" Even though when i asked them if for any reason i had to be hospitalized during that 1.5 months and I would have called them to pay for it they said "NO they wouldnt have!" I called numerous times and they told me a manager was going to call me and they never did. Then i had the same problem while cancelling my policy. I called and they told me I would have to pay for the whole month since i didnt give them a 30 day notice. It was BullS***. All my other policies I have been able to cancel the same day and then get reimbursed for the time left in the month. They told me I had to pay the rest of the month with no refund. They also said i could be penalized cause i had to close my old bank accounts down that my direct payment was linked up to because I was ROBBED AT GUNPOINT mind you. I HATE Celtic!! Choose another health care provider!!. |

I signed up with Celtic health insurance in June. I was quoted $x.xx a month and approved. When I got my bill it was $5 more per month. I called to ask about this and was rudely informed that "quoted prices are not guaranteed." I was told I could write a letter to ask them to reconsider.
Over two months ago I went to the doctor. They have still not finished filing the claim! They say they are waiting on prior history from the doctor I visited and a hospital I have never heard of. I asked on the phone what this hospital is and I was told I'd have to talk to the investigations team. I asked if I could, and was told the investigation team does not take outside phone calls - I would have to write them a letter again(not email)!!!
I dread having to call Celtic because their staff are not friendly and it seems they are trained to be as difficult as possible! I have scheduled my policy to be cancelled at the end of the year and I am switching providers.. |
